Complex for Waterfront Access to Exploration and Research (CWATER)

CWATER will create a next-generation, world-class, sustainable marine research facility that will enable fundamental advances in ocean science, engineering and education through the 21st Century for the entire oceanographic community. CWATER will incorporate sea-level rise and coastal resiliency measures and will be designed to adapt its final elevation to adjust to changing sea level rise while serving as a model for other marine centers and facilities. The proposed marine facility will significantly expand and enhance the nations infrastructure in support of ocean research and engineering in partnership with key sponsors NSF, U.S. Navy, NOAA, and other U.S. government agencies.
