EMERSON COLLEGE LITTLE BUILDING
80 BOYLSTON STREET

Century-old dormitory renovated in Boston’s historic district

This project involved the renovation of an existing 12-story, 740-room dormitory building built in 1917 located on the corner of Boylston and Tremont Street, in Boston’s historic district. This overhaul of the building included the complete removal of the building’s exterior envelope from the third level up and the installation of a new precast skin historically replicating the existing facade. Plans included the addition of a new floor at the existing roof level, as well as building upgrades to the building’s structural elements, new building systems and services, including new elevator machinery and elevator renewals.
