SOUTH SHORE HOSPITAL PRATT 6 & CRITICAL CARE

Inventive solutions to creating patient spaces.

The project included a 2-story addition to the Messina Building and a complete floor renovation to Pratt 6 on the main campus of South Shore Hospital. Phase I consisted of a two story addition to the Messina Building totaling approximately 46,775 sf.  The new fourth floor is shell space; the new fifth floor is a new critical care platform with 24 ICU beds and all the required support spaces. As part of the addition a new passenger elevator was located in the current Emergency Department from the ground floor to the new 4th and 5th floors. Phase 2 was the renovation to Pratt 6, which was the former ICU Department. This was renovated into 24 intermediate care beds. As part of this project, two new 800 kw emergency generators have also been installed.
