The home infusion pharmacy was developed in a former clinical lab space on the lower level of Lawrence Memorial Hospital, as part of Tufts Medical Center’s initiative to expand its support for at-home infusion medication treatments. This $2.7M project was designed to meet the growing demand for outpatient care, allowing patients to receive complex infusion therapies in the comfort of their own homes. The pharmacy features an ISO 07 (++) non-hazardous buffer room, alongside dedicated areas for validation, compounding, and assembly, ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory standards. The state-of-the-art facility was carefully planned to optimize workflow, patient safety, and medication accuracy, while supporting the hospital’s goal of providing advanced care beyond its walls. The project was successfully completed in 2023.
