MULTIPURPOSE TEACHING & SIMULATION LAB (MTSL)

Building simulation spaces for future surgeons.

The laboratory is designed to be a tool for teaching students through hands-on lab work and provide a location for access to the simulators for after-hours practice and tuning of skills. An adjacent surgery induction room will be constructed as Phase I between the MTSL and the existing surgery room. This room provides an accreditation-required animal prep space for animals to be sedated and prepped for surgery. The surgery induction room also supports expanded simulation lab courses and lab development. Scope includes surveying existing conditions in the existing lower level of the Foster Animal Hospital, programming, schematic design, cost estimating, producing renderings, and producing a final report.
