The Wasserstein Hall, Caspersen Student Center and Clinical Wing
The Challenge
Conduct the complete budget and specification review of the furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) for the Wasserstein Hall, Caspersen Student Center. Manage the specification, bidding, buyout and installation of all owner-supplied equipment for this 250,000 sf academic building.
The Solution
We worked with the design team, owner and various vendors to evaluate buyout risks and timing options in a depressed economy, while also developing a procurement strategy for the FF&E package that leveraged the buying power of the university within a competitive marketplace.
The Key Benefits
The buyout of the furniture package proceed well in advance of the need for installation In order to receive the financial benefits provided from the depressed economic conditions. We worked closely with the vendors to schedule certain items for early release and storage and coordinated any infrastructure requirements accordingly with the design team and general contractor.
